Climbing Wall Newsletter 2012
5 years after the climbing wall was removed from the construction of the gymnasium and after much work, effort and persistence Melrose High School finally has its own rock climbing wall. It was officially opened on Friday 4th November with many ex-Melrose High students present to see the finished project. At a cost of $75,000, it is the only climbing wall in any ACT school that has been built to meet the new Australian Standards. It features 6 pitches with 12 different routes, a 2 meter overhang and abseiling platform. The routes can be changed and made harder or easier to suit individuals and challenge everyone.
